On the historical role of governments

  1. Hi Alex! How are you?
  2. Hey, hi Matt, I’m doing well, what about you?
  3. I’m doing okay, but there is something bothering my mind.
  4. What’s that?
  5. You know all the websites and the documentaries on the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, saying that it was an inside job?
  6. Yes, I was the one talking to you about these websites first. So you checked them finally! What did you think?
  7. I went through almost all of them, and read carefully the information and the proofs that they presented, and I must say, as skeptical and apprehensive as I was beforehand, I have to admit that the evidence to support the inside-job theory is overwhelming.
  8. See? I told you! This has nothing to do with anyone else other than the people pulling the strings behind the American government and most governments in the world through total control of the media, natural resources, drugs, guns, banks, corporations, etc.
  9. Yes, I know, that’s what they are exposing on their different websites, but it’s so gigantic, it seems to have been going on for such a long time, that I really wonder if anything can ever be done about it. Seriously, look at what they are controlling, and look at all their history of oppression and hegemony through the centuries, I mean why should it change? Why should we be able to turn things around?
  10. That’s a fair question to ask. Basically what you’re asking is: what’s the purpose of knowing all of this?
  11. Yes, that’s exactly it. I mean, I could get raped without knowing it, and maybe it would be less painful than being totally aware of it while it is happening, and knowing that I cannot do anything about it. You know what I mean?
  12. Definitely! I mean, at least we agree on the fact that the only good reason to know about all of that is to change the awful situation that we are facing, right?
  13. Well, yeah. It’s such a big illusion, and it’s such a great corruption that if I am to be made aware of it, I want to be able to do something about it, because thinking about it and reflecting on the depth of this evil is just painful. It would be like tying me to a chair, forcing my eyes to stay open, like in Stanley Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange, while showing me my mother being raped and tortured continuously in front of me. That’s torture for her and forme!!! I mean, what would be the point of doing that, other than making me suffer too??? Knowing that she is suffering is enough to make me suffer. Knowing that she is suffering and showing me every day how she is suffering is doubly torturous to me. Even worse, knowing that she is suffering, showing her suffering to me, and realizing that I cannot do anything about it is triply evil and torturous. I don’t want to be in that position, ever. And that’s why I’m challenging the very idea of knowing all these things about how the same bunch of people have been lying, looting, killing, raping and torturing us.
  14. I can understand what you are saying. Actually, to tell you the truth, I haven’t really given deep thoughts to this idea. I had just supposed beforehand that it was my duty to know these things and share them with others. I mean, don’t you want to know if someone is lying to you? Don’t you want to know if someone is robbing you and killing your neighbors?
  15. Like I told you, if they have been doing it without any problem for centuries, it must be that they have tremendous powers. And if they have these tremendous powers, chances are that I cannot stop them from doing that. And like I told you earlier, if I cannot do anything about it, I’d rather not be reminded every day of how evil they are and how powerless I am in front of this.
  16. Ok, but you know, because they have been doing this for centuries doesn’t mean that they will always do it!
  17. Ok, but what makes you think that this time it will be any different than any other moment in history???
  18. Good question, well I can explain to you first why they have always managed to survive through history. Let’s imagine, some centuries ago, that one territory on Earth managed to be free from the grips of these guys, maybe like Ancient Egypt or Ancient Greece. Do you think that prevented the oligarchy from having total control over other parts of the world?
  19. Well, probably not…they had so many other territories to control, I mean Egypt and Greece weren’t so big territories compared to the whole of Middle-East, Africa or Europe.
  20. Exactly. And that’s what they did: they built empires, and then they annihilated these newly-formed-free societies from the outside through wars or from the inside through sects and sophistry. Now, look at the American Revolution. Look at how the founding fathers had a deep understanding of who their enemy was and recognized very early that it was the oligarchy, through Britain. Look at how the whole of American History is a fight to prevent these evil forces from infiltrating their country. Think about this quote from George Washington: “It is not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am.” From this quote you can understand how the very idea of the United States was to have a society free of the oligarchy.
  21. Yes, but look at what is happening to the United States right now! They are going to crumble like Egypt or Greece. They’re well on their way. So you see, no matter what you do, they will win again!
  22. All right, but let me show you why I think this time in history could be different. First, do you agree, from our analysis of the collapse of Ancient Egypt and Greece, that what enabled the oligarchy to destroy these societies was their ability to develop empires nearby and then take over these civilizations? So basically, they managed to suppress these societies because they had big territories where they could implement themselves.
  23. Yes, this is definitely a major part of the reason of the destruction of these civilizations.
  24. So, if we wanted to prevent them from doing that again, we would need to prevent them from taking over any form of territory, right?
  25. Well, yes, but exactly how do you do that?
  26. Well, what prevented Egypt or Greece from doing that? What prevented them from having a greater territory while keeping their high level of culture inside their society?
  27. I would say that it was their level of technology. I mean, they couldn’t just go anywhere. It took a long time to travel inside the land, and boats were faster, but they were limited. So, any civilization was limited in what it could achieve culturally in the world, and that’s what enabled the oligarchy to keep control over other territories.
  28. Exactly, so do we agree that the basic tool to have an influential, efficient humanist civilization is technology?
  29. Yeah, definitely, the higher the level of technology, the greater the possibility for transportation, and the greater the cultural and commercial influence of civilizations.
  30. And the greater the quality and speed of communication.
  31. Yeah.
  32. So one thing the oligarchy needs in order to stay alive is control over a territory, and using it as a center for launching attacks against other free societies of the world.
  33. Yes.
  34. And what’s enabling them to do that is a low level of technology in the world, keeping every society distant from one another, with a poor system of communication, so that they can’t unite and destroy the oligarchy.
  35. I agree with every thing you are saying, but I don’t quite see how that is relevant to what we were talking about at the beginning…
  36. You asked me why I thought we could defeat them, at this time of history.
  37. Yes, that was my question…
  38. Can’t you see the biggest difference now? Look at our level of technology for transportation and communication that we have at this time of history. We have boats, trains and for some decades now, planes. Planes! Can you imagine how that can freak them out!?! I mean now we can go from here to the other side of the world in a matter of hours! It means that we can travel and thus be connected and exchange cultures, ideas and technology so much more efficiently. Imagine how fearful the oligarchy is about planes!! Look at all the problems the airline industry has been having since 9-11. Look at everything they are doing to discourage you from embarking on a plane. Look at how they are ruining the image of the airline industry. Look at how many flights have been delayed, or have abruptly landed because there was a suspect passenger in the plane! They don’t want us to be connected! They want you to stay put in your little corner of the world, unaware of what is going on internationally, so that you grow ignorant of your fellow man, and then you can become so self-centered that you begin to fear everyone who doesn’t look like you. And when you start to fear your fellow human being, you’re turning your head away from the real enemy. That’s exactly what they want: divide and conquer. They don’t want us to be one! They want us to fight each other instead of fighting them.
  39. It’s true! I’ve never thought about that! Wow! And with our level of technology in communication, it’s got to be even scarier for them! We are able to reach one person on the other side of the world in a matter of seconds!! With the Internet, we can exchange ideas and create unity amongst ourselves. I think I’m beginning to understand what you mean…
  40. Yes. That’s the biggest difference right now: we can become one. And when we become one, they can’t stop us anymore. Malcolm X said that in a speech: “If I take my hand and slap you, you don’t even feel it. It might sting you because these digits are separated. But all I have to do to put you back in your place is bring those digits together.” So that’s where we are in history right now: we have the capacity to unite and defeat the oligarchy. We have a sufficiently high level of technology of transport and communication to unite and prevent any form of oligarchy from affecting us anymore.
  41. Ok, you are right; we can do it more than at any other time in history. But just because we can do it, doesn’t mean that we will do it!
  42. What you are saying is true. What will it take for us to achieve such a goal, now that we have proved that we have the capacity to do it?
  43. I mean, if everyone agrees on that, we surely will achieve our goal! But you know that is never going to happen. Having every single person to agree on the same thing I think is out of the question. So how do we do??
  44. You are right: if everyone agrees on this change, it will happen. But not everyone needs to agree though so that the change occurs! Let me give you an example to illustrate my point. Let’s say you have a big family dinner, and you and a couple of cousins want to have cherry pie for dessert. What will you do to get your cherry pie? Are you going to talk to every person present at the dinner and convince them to ask for a cherry pie?
  45. Ha-ha! No, of course not!
  46. Well, what will you do then?
  47. We could talk to the person cooking the food, and ask her or him to make a cherry pie for dessert.
  48. Ok, excellent, so you will go to the person responsible for what you want. And you will talk to highest authority you can. It’s the same in politics. You want a political change. What do you do? Do you have to convince every single citizen to promote such a change, or do you ask the people responsible for making the policies of your society?
  49. Ha-ha! I understand what you are saying: we have to ask our politicians if we want things to change. But, how do you do that??
  50. You mean, how do you contact them?
  51. Yeah…
  52. How do you contact your dentist?
  53. What??? Well, I can call him…what’s your point? You want me to call my elected official? Ha-ha, you’re joking, right?
  54. No, I’m dead serious.
  55. You mean I can call him?
  56. You didn’t know that??
  57. No!! How do you do that?
  58. You look up his number in the White Pages of your district or your state, it’s usually written there, otherwise, you can look on the Internet, and you will find it there for sure.
  59. Wow!! This is great man; it’s the first thing I’m going to do in the morning. How come, we don’t know about these things? It seems like a pretty basic knowledge for a citizen to have.
  60. It’s part of the plan to make you feel totally disconnected from the political life of your society. They want to suppress any political initiative in yourself and make you feel submissive and feel like a spectator of the world: they want to make you feel outside of the world, not part of it as you truly are. And as someone inside the world, as a part of the world, you are the world, and you can change it if you don’t like what you see!
  61. This is some powerful thoughts that I will think about…
  62. But let me tell you of the first time I called my elected official…It was the first time, so I was very excited and eager to talk to him about all the conspiracies going on about the police state and everything. So I called his office, and I got lucky: he was there and he had a bit of free time. So I presented myself as one of his citizens and I told him about all these evil forces trying to take control over the government, and about secret societies, etc. And at my biggest surprise, he knew all about what I was saying: I couldn’t believe it!!! I mean, I thought I was talking directly to the enemy, I thought he was part of these people, but not at all: I was shocked and didn’t know what to say! Then, he talked and I listened to him: he told me that he knew all these things, and had discovered them while serving in office and talking to a lot of people. He acknowledged the fact that there were powerful secret forces trying to bring about a dictatorship in the nation. And he said that he wasn’t the only one aware of that, but that the majority of the other politicians were either corrupted or foolish. And then he said: “what do you think I should do about it? What do you suggest we can do?” I didn’t know what to say: I realized that I had only focused on how great the problem was and never thought about any real solutions! I was honest with him and told him that I didn’t have any idea yet but that I would think about solutions and call him back when I had any. We said goodbye and promised to talk again.
  63. Ha-ha! That’s a pretty good story! I’m sure the same thing would have happened to me if I had called them before you told me this story. And it might have been even more ridiculous for me, because I can get so easily carried away. So, did you call him back?
  64. No, not yet, I haven’t come up with any solutions so far. It’s harder than it looks you know. Sometimes I wonder if we’re really going to change things like that…I look at most of the politicians and I see a bunch of corrupted cowards and when I look at us, as citizens, I see that most of us don’t even understand how our government functions and what the law is. And because of that, the politicians don’t suggest any solutions, and the citizens either are sleeping, or complain and insult the government, but almost never take responsibility for what is happening and suggest real legislations to change that.
  65. Don’t say that! Think about it: these politicians only care about keeping their power, right?
  66. Of course…
  67. And where do they get their power from?
  68. Well, they get elected and that’s how they end up where they are…
  69. Exactly, so they are there because they were elected, and they will stay there if they get reelected, right?
  70. Yes…
  71. So their main worry is reelection, right?
  72. Yes…
  73. Ok, now, I’m going to share a thought with you: what if more than half of the people voting in a district said that they will only vote for someone who will push for a certain policy? Will the politicians of this district suddenly run and tell everyone that they will endorse this legislation?
  74. Ha-ha! For sure, that’s what they will do…they don’t have any form of subjectivity, of creativity or leadership. They are so predicable. But, this would also mean that we would need at the same time to spread the word into the voting population.
  75. Of course, it would be a double flank war: on one side, we will have to educate our politicians, and on the other we have to educate the population. Basically, they’re not doing their job as elected official. So what we have to do is do is act as if we were politicians, as if we had been elected, as if we were responsible for our fellow citizens. We have to do the job for them. If they don’t do their job, if they can’t do their job, we shouldn’t wait for them to do it, or even complain that they are not doing it: we should do it ourselves. We should take advantage of their cowardice by playing the card of “if you don’t do that, we won’t vote for you” against them, because it’s the only language they understand. But, in order to do that, we need to have legislative proposals for them…
  76. And to have realistic and intelligent legislative proposals, I think we need a better understanding of our political system. So the first step towards any form of political activism is studying the political structure and laws of the society in which we live. Once we understand the rules by which we function, we will be able to change them and act accordingly!
  77. But, you know, we’re talking about becoming the government here…aren’t we making a big mistake? Aren’t they the enemy? Isn’t it the biggest institution that has been subverting us throughout history?
  78. You might have read or watched too much Chomsky my friend!! Look at the link between our fight for freedom and the establishment of government. Look at the birth of democracy in Ancient Greece and the parallel with the development of science, sports and arts. Look at the American Revolution and the birth of the republic! I mean, what does the oligarchy like?
  79. They like to control the whole world and prevent any form of human development and freedom.
  80. Yes and how do they do that?
  81. Like we said earlier, they keep us divided…
  82. Yes, and they prevent science and technology from blossoming, they prevent the spreading of new powerful ideas and the spread of civilization. I mean, think if the oligarchy had the choice between a world without any form of government anywhere and a world with governments and sovereign nation-states? What’s the easiest to control?
  83. I’m not sure…
  84. Think about monarchy…What’s the most effective way to have total control of your population: a monarchy or a republic?
  85. A monarchy, obviously, because you have less people involved in policy-shaping and these people are always the same, there is no change.
  86. That’s why they resisted the Independence of America. What do you think the oligarchy would do if we just eliminated every government on the planet?
  87. They would definitely try to take over.
  88. Yeah, just like England did with its British East India Company: it was a virtual corporation, a private enterprise who was ruling India and other nations!!! Can you think of any nightmare worse than this one? That’s what they are trying to do with globalization. They are trying to destroy governments: they don’t like governments! They hate governments! That’s why they’re trying so hard to take them over through corruption and privatization. They’re telling you: “The government can’t take care of your education. The government can’t take care of your healthcare. The government can’t take care of building infrastructure. The government can’t take care even of the military. The market will take care of it. The magic of the market will take care of it! Leave it to the market; leave it to private enterprises to take care of your basic needs and your welfare.” Is this any different from selling your soul to the devil? The problem is not the idea of government in itself. The problem is the quality of our government right now!!!!
  89. It’s true…
  90. What determines the quality of the government?
  91. The people inside the government, the politicians of course.
  92. Who’s putting them there?
  93. Us!
  94. So we are creating this situation to ourselves!!! Are we doing it consciously? I hope not. I still like to believe that we are not masochist by nature! So our problem is that we are uneducated about politics: we are uneducated about our government, about our system. We know something is wrong, really wrong, but we don’t know how to change that. I’ll tell you how to change that: change the quality of your government, change the people inside the government.
  95. How do you think we can do that?
  96. Well we can do two things I think. The immediate thing we can do is figuring out national solutions or even international solutions if we can, and pushing these policies in our Congress, or our Parliament by calling and putting regular pressure on our elected officials, scaring them about the possibility that they might not get reelected. The longer-term solution is changing these politicians by honest, educated, intelligent people, like us. We don’t like the politicians we have? Let’s take their place!!! And don’t ask for it, just take it! That’s what Malcolm X had to say about this: “Anytime you beg a man to set you free, you will never be free. Freedom is something that you have to do for yourself.” And before presenting ourselves as candidates, we should study the functioning of government and of the major political institutions, and we should have a better understanding of these things than any other citizen. Then, we should make the best legislative proposals than any other candidate of the district or the state. Let’s not replace the politicians for the sake of replacing them: let’s replace them with the best among us. Let’s be exacting with others as much as for ourselves!
  97. I agree with you now…You have made me understand that there is no possible change without the government. We have to change the government before changing the situation. The problem is not the government; it’s the hijacking of the government by private interests… We need to take our government back!
